Dedication

On Mother's Day, May 13, we had a time of dedication for ourselves and Logan. First Baptist has a baby parade where all the parents with babies that were born in the past year have the option of going before the church for dedication. We are working on training Logan in all his physical and mental development. We just need to keep in mind that is spiritual development is the most important. Dedication means "selfless devotion." I think we both are selfless in our care and concern for Logan, but we need to work extra hard at working on his spiritual development.

Jason had to tell the whole church Logan's size and birthday. He did a great job. Logan made a very cute face and was very attentive to Pastor Harding while he was talking. He was also sneezing and trying to grab at his flower. Logan was given a blue carnation, New Testament, and a certificate stating the following:

Jason and Edy Gies brought Logan Benjamin Gies publicly before the Lord and their church family to ask for His blessings on their son's life.

They dedicated themselves to the following commitments:

• to affirm their commitments to each other as husband and wife.
• to pray daily for direction in their lives as well as their son's life.
• to faithfully bring their son to celebrate the Logan in worship on Sundays.
• to teach their son by work and example the truths in God's Word.
• to anticipate and seek to lead their son to a personal faith in Christ as soon as he is ready.

Overall, it was a wonderful celebration. I love the baby parade. I am so glad that we were able to be a part of it.

Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations to my brother Robert and his wife Jill. Jill gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday. Her name is Hadley Joy Booth. They live in Chicago so we are looking forward to seeing them very soon. We are so excited that Logan will have a cousin his age that he can play with and be close to.

This is Hadley with her big brother Eric. Big brother Stephen doesn't get home from college for a few days. Eric looks like a very proud big brother.

Trip downtown

Last week Edy and Logan came to visit me in Chicago. We went downtown with Jill and wandered around Michigan Ave. and Millenium Park. Here are a few pictures from the trip.

Happy Easter

Jason was able to come home for a long weekend so we had a great time spending time together. On Easter morning we went to FBCT's Easter program and were reminded of the real reason we celebrate this holiday. We enjoy the bunnys, chicks, eggs, new outfits, candy (of course), but we also keep in mind that this is truly a holiday about the death, burial, and resurection of Christ.

Yes, that is snow on the ground. Easter was very cold this year, but we still took the opportunity to get dressed up. Logan isn't quite big enough to do an egg hunt, but we still had lots of cute photo opportunities.

On Logan's first Easter he looked quite dapper with a sport coat, dress shirt, khakis, and some sweet dress shoes.

White never looked this good...

I was never a big fan of white cars, but you have to admit these look pretty good. I have seen pleanty of Trailblazer SS's and I love my white one a lot. Dave cleaned up both of them last week and took this picture. The Grand Prix is his by the way . . .
